With their 3-2 win over the Marlins (1-11) on Tuesday night, the Yankees officially have the best record in the MLB. They were previously tied with the Pittsburgh Pirates, but after Pittsburgh lost to the Detroit Tigers yesterday, New York took the lead. Soto had his first steal in the pinstripes at the bottom of the first inning, and while that didn’t result in a run, he later fired off an RBI single to get New York up 3-0. But the Yankees nearly let the win escape them against the worst team in the MLB. Miami got two on the board at the top of the seventh before Clay Holmes ultimately closed it out in the ninth.
