The Yankees survived a late comeback attempt by Tampa Bay on Sunday to win 5-4 and take the series 2-1, righting the ship after they lost their first series of the year against the Blue Jays earlier in the week. Yankees reliever Dennis Santana gave up a double to Amed Rosario and a single to Curtis Mead in the eighth to bring the Rays within a point of tying the game, but Victor Gonzales made a nifty underhand toss to first to get Harold Ramirez out and save the game.

Now New York hosts the A’s, who are just 8-14 to start the season, and coming off a 6-2 loss to the Cleveland Guardians at the end of a 0-3 losing series.
