The New York Mets and Detroit Tigers clash for Game 2 of their three-game series on Wednesday, April 3 (4/3/2024) at Citi Field in Queens, New York, after Tuesday’s game was postponed due to rain.

Sean Manaea had a very promising start for the Mets on Monday, getting eight strikeouts through the sixth inning and allowing zero runs. He nearly let Carson Kelly get home off a hit from Andy Ibanez, but Brandon Nimmo fired the ball to home plate where Francisco Alvarez was able to tag Kelly out just in time.
Edwin Diaz helped the Mets end the ninth inning scoreless, but things unraveled in extra innings, where Michael Tonkin allowed five runs at the Top of the 10th and ultimately cost New York the game.
The Mets were delayed by rain, and ultimately postponed the game until Thursday at 1:10 p.m. Adrian Houser will push back his debut to Wednesday.
