Update: 15-year-old boy shot in head near Parkside Commons still in critical condition

Syracuse, N.Y. — A 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after he was shot in the head Monday night, police said.

The boy was shot in the 200 block of Westmoreland Avenue, near the intersection with East Fayette Street, police said. Parkside Commons apartment complex sits along the 2000 block of East Fayette Street.

The boy was taken to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse around 10:58 p.m. Monday by private vehicle, police said.
