Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse lawmaker on Monday blocked a program pitched by the mayor to improve homes in three neighborhoods due to what she said was a lack of community outreach on the city’s East Side.

City officials now plan to hold a meeting about the program next week in that part of the city, according to Greg Loh, the city’s chief policy officer.
