The Yankees will be out for some payback in the second Subway Series of the 2024 MLB Season. In the first two-game meeting between these teams in June, the Mets swept 2-0 including a dominant 12-2 drubbing in Game 2 in front of a thrilled crowd at Citi field.

The Yankees were in an undeniable slump ahead of the All-Star Break, and went 2-2 with the Tampa Bay Rays in their first series since. The Bronx Bombers wrapped the series with a 9-1 win on Monday night off a stellar start from Carlos Rodon, who allowed just one run across seven innings pitched, while the offense put on a strong showing including two home runs from Juan Soto.

The Mets also split their first series back from the break, going 2-2 with the Miami Marlins. The Amazin’s won 6-4 on Sunday night in Miami, with their own slugger Francisco Lindor also earning solo homers in the fourth and ninth innings.
