The Mets split the series 2-2 with the Atlanta Braves over the weekend, failing to surpass them in the standings, but also keeping themselves just a game and a half behind Atlanta in the National League East. The Mets did manage to finish the weekend with a hold on the Wild Card spot they achieved earlier in the series, but its a razor thin margin that keeps them there, just a half game ahead of the Diamondbacks, and a half game behind the Padres.

New York dropped game 2 of their series against Atlanta 9-2, after David Peterson gave up a three-run home run to Matt Olson in the fourth inning. Peterson also fired off a wild pitch that allowed former New York Met Travis d’Arnaud to score later in the inning. Pete Alonso had a two run homer in the eighth inning for the Mets only runs of the night.

The Twins are 58-46 and second in the American League Central after beating the Tigers 5-0 on Sunday. It is their first and only meeting with the Mets this season.
