The Mets are fresh off a 4-3 triumph over the Atlanta Braves, in which Brandon Nimmo saved the game for New York with a two-run walk-off home run at the bottom of the ninth inning. Atlanta was on the verge of a three-game sweep of the Mets in Queens, before A.J. Minter gifted Nimmo a 90-mile-per-hour cutter that he smashed deep to right center for two runs and the win.

That leaves New York still struggling to catch up in the division, with an 19-20 record for the season and in fourth place in the National League East, eight games behind the first-place Phillies. Now the Mets will try to change that narrative and gain some major ground against the team with the most wins in the MLB.

Philadelphia (28-13) is having a banner season behind Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner on a red hot offense. The Phillies lost 7-6 in the 10th inning to the Miami Marlins on Sunday, but won the series 2-1. They have not lost a series since their three-game homestand against the Reds in the first week of April.
