This was originally slated to be a four-game series, but Game 3 was postponed due to rain on Wednesday night, and has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 26, where it will cap off another Mets away series in Atlanta. That means the series remains tied 1-1 heading into Thursday afternoon’s game, which will decide whether the Mets win their second consecutive series of the season, or the Braves win two series in a row at home.

Both games so far have been tight, with the Mets holding on for an 8-7 win on Monday, then nearly storming back to lose 6-5 to Atlanta on Tuesday. Pete Alonso crushed a three-run homer off Tyler Matzek at the top of the eighth inning in Game 2 after the Mets fell behind 6-0. Then in the ninth, Omar Narvaez had an RBI double followed by an RBI single from Starling Marte. Francisco Lindor even singled to put the tying run on the bases, but Raisel Iglesias was able to close out the game by striking out Pete Alonso.

Weather on Thursday in Atlanta could be rainy around the start of the game, but it is expected to clear up to partly cloudy by 1 p.m. New York and Atlanta are set for a 12:20 p.m. start on SNY, Bally Sports South and MLBN. A live stream of the Mets-Braves game is available in-market with an introductory offer from DirecTV Stream (free trial). The game will also stream out-of-market on fuboTV (free trial) and Sling (low intro rate).
