Melissa Etheridge and Indigo Girls coming to Upstate NY: When, where, tickets

Melissa Etheridge and the Indigo Girls are coming to Upstate New York for two shows. The co-headliners will perform at the Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater in Chautauqua, NY, on Friday, August 16, and the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY, on Wednesday, August 21. Both concerts start at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the Chautauqua show are completely sold out, while only lawn general admission remains for the Bethel show. Fans can find greater availability on secondary market platforms such as Vivid Seats, SeatGeek and StubHub.

Etheridge is a two-time Grammy Award-winning roots rock singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for hits like her debut single “Bring Me Some Water” (1988) and “Come to My Window” and “I’m The Only One” from her breakthrough album “Yes I Am” (1993). She’s since released 16 studio albums and counting.

On July 9, Etheridge released the live album “I’m Not Broken (Live From Topeka Correctional Facility)” and a Paramount+ docuseries of the same name, featuring Etheridge connecting with the women of Topeka Correctional Facility.

The Indigo Girls, composed of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, are a folk-rock duo who first gained prominence with their self-titled debut album in 1989, which featured the hit single “Closer to Fine and won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. Their latest album, “Look Long,” was released in May 2020.

In 2023, the Indigo Girls also released a documentary following their musical journey, titled “It’s Only Life After All,” a lyric from their 1989 song “Closer to Fine.”
