The 2024 MLB All-Star Game caps off five days of All-Star Week action — from Friday, July 12 through the big game on Tuesday, July 16 — where the likes of Juan Soto and Shohei Ohtani will lead the American League vs. National League in a clash of the best players in the MLB.
At the symbolic halfway point in the season, the All-Star Game, a.k.a. the Midsummer Classic, presses pause on the season as teams readjust for the months ahead. For fans, it’s a great showcase to see the top sluggers and pitchers in the game all take the field at once.
The 2024 MLB All-Star Game will be broadcast on FOX, but the week ahead, including the HBCU Classic, MLB Draft and Home Run Derby, will be broadcast on other channels, including MLB Network and ESPN. Fans can stream the complete 2024 All-Star Week, including the All-Star Game, on DirecTV Stream (free trial) and fuboTV (free trial).
Fans vote to determine starting fielders, while coaches and managers nominate the pitching rosters for the American and National League teams. Soto has been named to the All-Star roster for the third straight year, and for a third team. He has represented the Washington Nationals (2022) and San Diego Padres (2023) previously, and this year represents the New York Yankees.
The New York Mets do not have any starters this year, but Pete Alonso will be a reserve infielder for the National League team. The National League is headlined by Ohtani and a deep squad of Phillies players including Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm and Trea Turner.
