How to submit letters and guest opinions to Syracuse.com

Syracuse.com and The Post-Standard welcome your opinions on topics of local interest. We publish timely letters and guest opinions that advance the conversation about issues, demonstrate expertise or develop a compelling idea.

Submit letters by email to letters@syracuse.com. Letters should not exceed 250 words, which is roughly the length of the text in this post. Longer “guest opinion” submissions should not exceed 800 words. Preference is given to material exclusive to Syracuse.com. We do not accept anonymous submissions. We will publish your first and last name and community of residence. Please also include your street address and daytime phone number, for verification of your identity and so that we may contact you if we have questions. We will not publish your address or phone number. If you are submitting a letter on behalf of others, please include their contact information, for verification.

Letters also may be sent by mail to The Readers’ Page, Syracuse.com/The Post-Standard, 220 S. Warren St., Syracuse NY 13202.

Anything you send us becomes the property of Advance Media New York, publisher of The Post-Standard. It will not be returned. Such submissions, to name a few examples, may be a letter to the editor, a cartoon, a picture, a poem and the like. Any such material may be excerpted, edited for length or content and may be published or used in any other way in print or on syracuse.com.

Questions about letters, guest opinions and editorials should be directed to Marie Morelli, editorial/opinion leader, at mmorelli@syracuse.com.
