While all eyes are on Aaron Rodgers for the New York Jets, he is not expected to take the field in their Preseason opener against the Commanders. Rodgers sat out of team practice earlier in the week when the weather got rainy, to minimize any chance of injury. Last season, Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon and ended what should have been his debut for the Jets after just four snaps. Instead, fans can look forward to the Jets’ young and talented lineup including Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore and Quinnen Williams.
Despite Rodgers absence, the Jets managed to go 7-10 in 2023 with impressive wins over the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles along the way. They finished third in the AFC East, and will look for a shot at redemption this season. The Washington Commanders struggled last season, finishing 4-13 and tied for the second worst record in the NFL. Fans are eager to see how Jayden Daniels, the Commanders No. 1 pick and No. 2 overall pick at the 2024 NFL Draft, will fare this season.
