Syracuse, N.Y. — A man on parole for attempted murder worked with youths at Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center for more than a week without a criminal background check.
The man, Amir A. Andrews, 40, was fired from his job as a detention home aide in November, according to Justin Sayles, a spokesperson for Onondaga County,
