A total of four class types in four school districts in Central New York have average class sizes of more than 25 students, according to state data.
The classes and districts are below. The districts come from a five-county region of Central New York including Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego counties.
- Liverpool, Onondaga County, earth science, 26 students per class
- North Syracuse, Onondaga County, grade eight science, 27 students per class
- Union Springs, Cayuga County, geometry (common core), 26 students per class
- Southern Cayuga, Cayuga County, grade eight science, 27 students per class
A total of six Central New York classes in five districts have average sizes of less than five students. The classes and districts are below:
- Brookfield, Madison County, physics, two students per class
- Brookfield, Madison County, algebra II (common core), three students per class
- Cincinnatus, Cortland County, algebra II (common core), four students per class
- Madison, Madison County, physics, three students per class
- Onondaga, Onondaga County, chemistry, four students per class
- Pulaski, Oswego County, physics, four students per class.
