Boy in critical condition after being shot in the head and dropped off at Upstate Hospital

Update: 15-year-old boy shot in head near Parkside Commons still in critical condition

Syracuse, N.Y. — A boy is in critical condition after he was shot in the head and dropped off at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, police said.

At 10:58 p.m. Monday the boy was taken to the hospital in a vehicle and left there, police said. Police did not say how old the boy is.

He has a gunshot wound to the head and is in critical condition, police said.

It is believed the shooting took place on the 200 block of Westmoreland Avenue near the intersection with East Fayette Street, said Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for police.
