I bought the Big League Chew x New Era New York Mets hat, and it looks incredible

Big League Chew and Major League Baseball go hand in hand, and earlier this year, New Era dropped a 2024 Big League Chew x New Era MLB hat collection, celebrating more than 40 years of that partnership with an iconic line of 59FIFTY fitted and snap back hats for all 30 MLB teams, and I absolutely could not resist getting one.

As a New York Mets fan and a baseball hat collector, I just had to buy one of these hats for my hat rack, pictured below:

Each team is got multiple Big League Chew hats in a range of flavors, sorry, colors, including sour apple, grape and cotton candy. You can even get pinstripe hats and team-color based hats, but they all pop with pastel colors and unique Big League Chew side patches and graphics. New York Mets New Era Grape Big League Chew Flavor Pack 9FIFTY Snapback Hat - Black/ Purple - $45.99

My personal favorite, and the hat I ultimately ended up grabbing, was this purple and black Grape-flavor hat, which fits like a glove, and comes with the iconic pin featuring the grape Big League chew packaging. It’s worth noting that these are currently listed as “almost gone,” on Fanatics, so do not miss a beat if you want to get one for yourself.

The hats even feature iconic moments in team history, like this Watermelon New York Mets hat with the 1986 World Series side patch. Plus, most hats feature a Big League Chew pin with graphics from a pack of Big League Chew chewing gum.

New York Yankees New Era Big League Chew Original 59FIFTY Fitted Hat - White - $55.99

Every team also has the classic Outta Here Original style hat, which is heavier on the Big League Chew look, than the team icons. The Yankees hat above distinguishes itself with the straight font, while the similar Mets hat has more of a Queens flair to its lettering. You can find this style for all 30 teams.

Boston Red Sox New Era Sour Apple Big League Chew Flavor Pack 9FIFTY Snapback Hat - Green/ Black - $45.99

The Sour Apple style, available for most teams, is a really unique fit to wear to the ballpark, featuring deep green cap with neon green on purple shadow for the raised embroidered team icon.

Los Angeles Dodgers New Era Big League Chew Team 59FIFTY Fitted Hat - Royal - $49.99

Each team also has a hat in standard team colors. These hats don’t come with pins, but distinguish themselves with large print Big League Chew side patches, like the Dodgers hat above.

Big League Chew made its debut in 1979 as an alternative to chewing tobacco that was popular in the sport at the time. Outta Here Original pink was soon joined by Ground Ball Grape, Wild Pitch Watermelon, Curveball Cotton Candy, Swingin’ Sour Apple, Slammin’ Strawberry and Big Rally Blue Raspberry, and you can find tributes to all those flavors in the hat collection above.
