43-year-old man dies after crash in Salina, likely from medical condition, deputies say

Salina, N.Y. — A 43-year-old man died Wednesday morning after a crash in Salina that was likely caused by a medical issue, deputies said.

A vehicle went off East Molloy Road in Salina around 1:55 a.m., said Tom Newton, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived and found a man unconscious and not breathing, he said. They attempted to save the man’s life but he died, he said.

It appears the driver had a medical issue that caused both the crash and his death, he said.
