The National Field Hockey Coaches Association has announced its 2024 High School Impact Senior Team, and three Section III athletes made the list.
Little Falls’ Makena Tooley and Baldwinsville’s Ella Holtman and Raegyn Wells are three of the 180 girls to earn this national honor.
The NFCHA High School Impact Senior Team honors seniors based on their entire high school career, according to the organization’s website. Community service, leadership, individual and team performance are all taken into consideration for this award.
Tooley helped the Mounties to a Section III Class D championship and state tournament berth last fall. In her career, she was a three-time All-CNY selection, two-time section champion and tallied 20 goals and 16 assists.
Holtman and Wells were second-team All-CNY selections for the 2023 season. Holtman was also a member of the 2021 Baldwinsville team that won the Section III Class A championship and finished her career with 10 goals and six assists. Wells played on defense and finished her senior season with one goal and one assist.
